Mexicoland expanded with Camino del Sol, the very first adventurous trail

Djurs Sommerland approached us with a clear objective: how to best expand the Mexico area.

Our initial concept was immediately approved, which was a great confirmation of our creative vision. We started by gathering inspiration and soon after presented a detailed expansion plan. A key element of our proposal was the adventure trail, designed to create a more balanced and immersive experience within the area. While we developed the creative vision and art direction, Greenspan oversaw the production and installation of this one-of-a-kind adventure trail. This trail offers excitement and adventure — especially for children — while remaining enjoyable for the entire family. The journey begins in a lively village and leads deep into the jungle, where guests encounter mysterious and exciting elements: such as ancient ruins, hidden traps, cascading waterfalls, and a sacred altar.

To elevate the experience further, we introduced an interactive moment with the Juvelen coaster and the El Grito drop tower, adding a surprising and dynamic twist to the adventure.

The phased implementation enhanced the quality and redefined the identity of Mexicoland. The adventure trail seamlessly connected existing attractions into one cohesive, themed environment. It offers a layered experience — from solving puzzles to enjoying panoramic views over a colorful queue line, and even coming face-to-face with Juvelen. The close encounters with Juvelen add a thrilling new dimension to the ride, enhancing both its intensity and the overall atmosphere of the area.
