In the experience design industry, we like to work with different partners. We have already had the opportunity to do many different projects with them, one of the latest being the Ghostly Manor project in Paultons Park.

For Paultons Park (UK), we have provided the master planning for the past eight years. Following the success of the area “Tornado Springs”, we were allowed to roll out the design for Ghostly Manor: a new dark ride combined with the technology and integration of Lagotronics, the new and unique ride system from Mack Rides, and the production and theming from Themics.

We were allowed to develop the story for the project, which we developed in storyboards and artworks for each scene. We then developed this further in design development, with coloured elevations and show set design packages, after which we did a style guide and logo-development for this new ride within the park. The biggest challenge was the ride “envelope”, where there was limited space in an existing building. In the end our architects helped to optimise this available space.

Ghostly Manor opened on 17 May 2025 and was instantly one of UK’s most ambitious and immersive darkrides. Of course, the new attraction model offers many different possibilities for theme parks elsewhere.
